Later this month, Tatuaje will show off its latest release for members of the Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA).

The Tatuaje TAA 50th is a 5 x 52 box-pressed robusto using a Connecticut broadleaf rosado oscuro wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers.

This is the eighth consecutive year Tatuaje has released an exclusive cigar for TAA members, all but one have used a broadleaf wrapper. Pricing is set at $11.95 per cigar.

The TAA is a fairly small group of some of the country’s top tobacconists, about 80 retailers as well as 40 or so manufacturers. The association gathers annually to discuss issues facing the industry and retailers, as well as to have its annual trade show, a unique event that works on a group buying format in order to secure exclusive deals for these generally high-volume merchants.

This year the TAA celebrates its 50th anniversary with the annual meeting kicking off April 29 at Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic.

Tatuaje was one of the first manufacturers to create a limited edition release for TAA members. Previously, some manufacturers made cigars that were offered regularly to TAA members, but Tatuaje opted to make a specifically limited edition release for 2011, something that it has done every year since.

Tatuaje is the fourth manufacturer to announce a TAA release for 2018 following: Altadis U.S.A., CLE and Crowned Heads.
