Two years ago, trademark issues prevented the original Diesel Tempest from shipping to stores. Now that STG has acquired Alec Bradley, those trademark concerns are no longer a problem. The new Diesel Tempest began shipping to stores on Monday.

Retailers have already taken delivery of the new Diesel Simple Fool. It’s the third cigar in the Diesel Fool’s Errand trilogy that has included three different 5 x 58 perfectos.

STG announced a handful of adjustments to its portfolio today, which include four lines going away.

It takes 200 years to grow a Mizunara tree large enough to be cut for use. Then Rabbit Hole puts its most premium whisky in barrels made from the wood for 11 months, after they’ve already spent 15 years in American oak. Then it’s onto the cigarmaking process.

This is a follow-up to last year’s Diesel Vintage. This blend uses a Ecuadorian wrapper over a habano binder from Estelí, Nicaragua and fillers from Jalapa, Nicaragua that the company says were aged for five to seven years.

The cigar uses a Nicaraguan habano binder that was aged in barrels made of Japanese Mizunara wood.

The Diesel Vintage Series Natural is offered in the same five sizes, at the same prices, as last year’s Diesel Vintage Series.

The Sideshow sampler contains seven, or eight, of the most interesting-looking cigars in STG’s portfolio.

The company says the Jalapa fillers have been aged for 5-8 years.

It’s the third collaboration between Diesel and Rabbit Hole, and features a Nicaraguan habano binder aged in Rabbit Hole Founder’s Collection Boxergrail Rye Whiskey barrels.

The Disciple is now offered in Toro and Torpedo sizes.
