Sanj Patel’s newest cigar will honor his late daughter.

It’s called Antra, a unique 7 x 43 size that is made by Tabacalera Díaz Cabrera. Patel told halfwheel that the cigar uses seven different types of tobacco, some more than a decade old. He said the cigar was inspired by Cuban Davidoffs, though he declined to talk specifics about the blend, which was developed with Eladio Díaz.

The MSRP is set at $14 per cigar and production is limited to 2,500 boxes of 10 cigars. In a phone call, Patel made it clear that this would be a one-time release.

That said, he mostly wanted to talk about why the cigar existed. June 4 would have been his daughter’s 20th birthday. She died from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). Patel said he would donate all of his profits from the sale of Antra to SIDS charities and that the color scheme for this release uses colors that are used to bring awareness to SIDS.

The cigars are already en route from the factory, and Patel said they should be on shelves around the June 4 date.

In addition to SP1014, which launched in 2022, Patel is also the owner of Sanj’s Smoke Shop, a retail store in Bloomfield, N.J.
