For the first time in years, Smoking Jacket has a new cigar. It’s called the Mini Henkie, a cigar created by Henrik, Hendrik and Hendrik for a man who goes by “Henke.”

The Mini Henkie is a 4 x 46 that uses an aged wrapper from Monika Kelner’s farm in Yamasá, Dominican Republic, a binder from Cotuí—also grown by Monika Kelner—and fillers that include criollo 98 and San Vicente from the Dominican Republic as well as HVC from Ecuador.

The MSRP is targeted at $8 per cigar.

Regular readers of this site suspect that this cigar is named after Hendrik “Henke” Kelner, which it is. Smoking Jacket and the Kelner Boutique Factory where the cigar is made are both owned by Hendrik Kelner Jr., one of Henke’s son. This cigar was blended by Henrik—son of Hendrik Jr.—and Hendrik Alexander, one of Henke’s sons.

This cigar is not only smaller, but is blended to be different. Kelner Jr. says that the other Henkie size, a 6 x 52 toro, was blended to be like the cigars that Henke used to smoke. This new size is more in line with the smaller cigars that he smokes now.

Henrik and Hendrik Alexander not only developed the cigar but also the packaging.

The Mini Henkie will be shown off at the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show, which takes place March 23-25 in Las Vegas. KBF is distributed in the U.S. by Casdagli.
