The third installment of Sinistro Cigars’ high-end NV line is on its way to stores.

The NV blend, created by James Agopian, features a Dominican corojo maduro wrapper that has been aged for 10 years, while the binder is an Indonesian Sumatra leaf, and the filler contains Dominican piloto cubano ligero, Nicaraguan ligero, Pennyslyanian ligero, and Dominican olor.

As with the past two releases, the cigars are produced by Tabacalera El Artista in the Dominican Republic, with two vitolas available:

  • Sinistro NV 2023 Remus (5 x 52) — $20 (Box of 20 Cigars, $400)
  • Sinistro NV 2023 Romulus (6 x 54) — $25 (Box of 20 Cigars, $500)

Production is limited to 180 boxes of 20 cigars, for each size, with production limited to just 10 retailers across the country. Unlike in previous years, the company is not releasing the names of the stores that are getting the cigars.

Sinistro first released the NV line in December 2021, with plans to make the line an annual release that would arrive in stores just before the end of the year. The first installment was limited to just 150 boxes of the two sizes and 10 retailers, while the second release, which came out in December 2022, saw production numbers increase to 190 boxes of the Remus and 180 boxes of the Romulus. The second release was also spread among 30 retailers.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
