At this year’s PCA Convention & Trade Show, Sinistro Cigars added a 6 x 56 perfecto vitola to both its The Last Barbarian and Mr. Desflorado lines, with the cigars scheduled to arrive at stores around mid-April.

The two new sizes share the same blend details as the other sizes in the line; The Last Barbarian uses a Dominican maduro wrapper, a Cameroon binder and a filler that includes what the company desrcibes as Dominican “super ligero,” as well as Nicaraguan ligero and seco, as well as ligero from Pennsylvania. The line debuted in a limited release in the summer of 2021 before getting a full release the following year.

Mr. Desflorado uses a Connecticut seed wrapper of undisclosed origin, a Cameroon binder, and fillers from Columbia, the Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua. It debuted at the 2023 PCA Convention and Trade Show.

Both lines are produced at Tabacalera El Artista in the Dominican Republic.

We decided to do the perfectos after having the factory roll us a few to smoke while at the beach in DR a little over a year ago,” Coleman Fine of Sinistro Cigars told halfwheel. “We enjoyed that size so much, that we decided to do a limited yearly run on them.”

Both cigars are priced at $13 each, and offered in boxes of 20 cigars, which are priced at $260. They are also both limited in production, with just 200 boxes being produced yearly. They join a 5 x 52 robusto and 6 x 54 toro in both lines.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
