There’s a new size of Sans Pareil’s Red line about to arrive at a handful of retailers, the limited edition Robusto.

The cigar measures 5 x 48 and comes priced at $30. It is part of the company’s The Cabinets collection of releases, meaning they come in 50-count boxes, of which just 50 were produced for this release. It’s less than the brand’s founder, Aaron Saide, had planned; he originally envisioned 65 boxes, which is why the individually numbered boxes show there were 65 produced. However, sorting and quality control resulted in a smaller amount that met his standards.

Saide said the cigars will begin shipping to retailers during the first week of June after getting some extra rest at the company’s Miami warehouse.

This is the second cigar in The Cabinets series, joining the Sans Pareil Purple Corona, which was released in March 2018.

This is also the second limited edition size for the line, joining the 7 1/2 x 38 Lancero that was released in Oct. 2018. Sans Pareil’s Red line has three regular production vitolas:

  • Sans Pareil Red A (8 3/4 x 52) — $50 (Box of 10, $500)
  • Sans Pareil Red Churchill (7 1/8 x 47) — $40 (Box of 10, $400)
  • Sans Pareil Red Torpedo (6 1/8 x 52) — $40 (Box of 15, $600)

The Sans Pareil Red blend uses an Ecuadorian corojo wrapper over a Dominican binder and filler. The line was launched in 2017.

Sans Pareil is made at Tabacalera Palma in the Dominican Republic.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
