The San Pedro de Macorís line is less than a year old, but it’s about to double in size.
Next week, Royal Agio Cigars USA will show off the San Pedro de Macorís Nicaragua and Sun Grown lines, two new extensions for the brand. The San Pedro de Macorís Nicaragua uses a Nicaraguan habano wrapper, whereas the Sun Grown uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper.
The internal blend is similar to the original San Pedro de Macorís Brazil and Ecuador lines: a Domincian olor binder over Dominican olor and piloto and Brazilian mata fina fillers. The one difference filler-wise is the addition of Nicaraguan viso for the lines.
All lines are offered in the same three sizes.
- San Pedro de Macorís Nicaragua/Sun Grown Perla (4 1/8 x 40) — $4.75 (Boxes of 20, $90)
- San Pedro de Macorís Nicaragua/Sun Grown Corona (5 7/8 x 42) — $5 (Boxes of 20, $100)
- San Pedro de Macorís Nicaragua/Sun Grown Robusto (5 1/8 x 52) — $5.50 (Boxes of 20, $110)
“Like the blend releases last year, the San Pedro de Macorís Nicaragua and Sun Grown blends continue to directly reflect the local way of life in this small town, delivering extraordinary enjoyment for the money,” said Francisco Batista, the company’s master blender, in a press release. “Everything here is about creating the best everyday experiences possible, no matter what the occasion, and I proudly speak for the entire factory family when I tell you that these new blends will surprise you.”
The cigars will debut at the Tobacco Plus Expo, which begins next week in Las Vegas.
