Since Warfighter Tobacco Co. debuted at the 2017 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show—the precursor to the PCA Convention—the company has been one of a handful of veteran-owned businesses that embrace a military theme in its products.

That military theme is evident throughout the company’s presentation and products, including its desert-themed background. In overall size, Warfighter’s booth appears the same as last year. I passed by it multiple times during the first day, and it was hard not to notice the steady stream of customers present.

However, notably missing is the golden retriever service dog that greeted attendees during the 2022 show.

Night Shift

According to the company, Night Shift was created as a “tribute to those warfighters, operators, first responders, and all the other unsung Americans who work the night shift, keeping America strong while the rest of us sleep.” The cigar features a candela strip on the cap that is meant to be “a subtle nod to the glorious, green hue that emanates from the advanced, infrared night vision optics used throughout the War on Terror.”

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
