In November 2022, ATL Cigar Co. entered into a distribution agreement with Luciano Cigars, an announcement that came with several other details. ATL Cigar Co. will remain independently owned by Peter Gross and Leroy Lamar III, with Gross joining Luciano Cigars as its new chief operating officer.

This marked the second time that ATL CIgar Co. and Luciano Cigars shared a trade show booth, with the first being the 2023 Total Product Expo (TPE) in February. It wasn’t immediately noticeable if you were just passing by, but a closer look revealed panels throughout the booth with imagery for ATL Cigar Co. as well as Dalay Zigarren, which was also in the booth.

As for the new products, in late June the company announced it would be adding a new vitola to three of its lines, while one of those is getting a rework by Luciano Meirelles.

This one didn’t make it to the trade show floor, but rest assured it is in the works.

ATL Magic Double Robusto

Rounding out the new releases is a new size for the ATL Magic line, which the company says allows for a deeper exploration of the line’s complexity and allure. This one wasn’t on display in the booth as it wasn’t ready in time to be in one of the cabinets with other new products.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
