Some months ago, Phil S. Zanghi III told me he cut his coffee consumption dramatically and while Phil is still Phil, there’s definitely a different pace to our wide-ranging conversations, which included talk of cigars, book covers, boxing, Jean-Claude Van Damme and more. Zanghi’s Debonaire House had nothing new on display, but there are a number of projects in the works, some of which Phil said I could tell you about below.

As for the booth, it’s once again part of De Los Reyes, the Dominican factory that makes the company’s cigars. The De Los Reyes booth has gone through some minor modifications through the years, but as I mentioned earlier, this will be the last year for this particular booth. I am curious to see what the next booth looks like and whether there’s more Indian Motorcycle—Zanghi has a licensing deal with the brand to make branded cigars—presence going forward. Like many others, Zanghi mentioned an uptick in international sales.

Technically, Zanghi’s brands had a specific corner, but I’m pretty sure Phil and I spoke in every part of that booth, or nearly every part of it.

Indian Shade Gordo

The Indian Shade line is going to get a 6 x 58 Gordo size before the end of the year, or at least that’s the plan. Zanghi told me pricing would be the same as the Habano and Maduro versions.

  • Wrapper: Ecuador (Connecticut)
  • Binder: Dominican Republic
  • Filler: Dominican Republic & Nicaragua
  • Indian Shade Gordo (6 x 58) — TBA

Production: Regular Production

Release Date: TBA

Indian Motorcycle 120

Next year, the Indian Motorcycle brand will celebrate its 120th anniversary and there will be a cigar to commemorate it. That’s all he would tell me at the moment.

Debonaire Salomon 30

To celebrate Zanghi’s three decades in the cigar business, there will be a limited edition salomon cigar created. It will ship alongside his book—which is written but still waiting on things like cover art—which is likely to be a very interesting read given Zanghi’s incredible story. Zanghi said this cigar could hit retail by the end of 2023 or perhaps early 2024.
