This year marked the debut of Jake Wyatt Cigar Co. on the PCA Convention & Trade Show floor, and the company showed up for its debut with an impressive-looking booth in a high traffic aisle that set them up well for introducing themselves to retailers. The company launched in February 2020, starting with a portfolio of six lines, five of which were regular production while the sixth is a limited edition. Since that launch, the company has added an entirely new line—which was part of its PCA debuts—along with a number of additional vitolas.

Jake Wyatt’s booth is impressively sleek and modern, not trying to do too much, but rather showing off the company’s products via display cases and some very good photography on the back wall. There is also an interactive display that retailers could use to explore the company’s portfolio and history, with a comfortable seating area squarely in the middle of the booth, which served as both a space to visit and write up orders.

Jake Wyatt Lithium

The Lithium line got a soft launch in November 2020 when the company released a gran robusto vitola that measured 6 x 50 and was limited to 200 bundles of 10 cigars, with the company announcing that the line would get its full launch at the 2021 PCA Convention & Trade Show, though we didn’t know what the sizes would be. Now we do, as the company is offering it in four vitolas.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
