While the headline grabber of the 2017 crop of Edición Limitada releases may well be the Cohiba Talismán, there are two other releases that are beginning to get their chance to impress cigar smokers.

The Partagás Series No.1 and Punch Regios de Punch are both slated to get their Swiss release this week, while the former has already arrived in Canada. A spokesperson from Intertabak A.G, which distributes Habanos S.A. products in Switzerland, told halfwheel that both cigars will be released to La Casa del Habano stores in the country as of Friday, Jan. 19, while Habanos Specialists in the country will get them next Friday, Jan. 26.

The Partagas Series No.1 uses the Noblezas vitola, a new 5 2/5 (138mm) x 52 robusto extra that is presented in a 25-count semi boite nature box. It will be offered for 615 Swiss Francs per box, just under $641, or $25.64 per cigar. It has also been spotted at the La Casa del Habano in Montreal recently, priced at CAD $59 per cigar, approximately US $47.50.

The Punch Regios de Punch is the shorter and thinner of the two releases, a corona extra vitola known as the Hermoso Especial that measures 4 7/10 (120mm) x 48. It is presented in 25-count slide lid boxes priced at 510 Swiss Francs, or approximately $531.36.

Both sizes are new to the Habanos S.A. portfolio.

Update (Jan. 17, 2018) — A representative from Phoenicia Trading A.A. told halfwheel that both cigars have been released in their region, which includes Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and continental Africa, among other regions. It is also been made available through the duty free shops in Lebanon and Dubai.

The cigars have not yet been released in Germany or the Benelux region, which includes Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, according to representatives from distributors in those areas.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
