Drew Estate’s new Nica Rustica Adobe is now shipping as a regular production item.
Since June 1, the company has been hosting events at retailers with the line, but it’s been otherwise unavailable to purchase. That has now changed and retailers can purchase the cigar as they wish.
The new line uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over a Brazilian binder and fillers from Nicaragua. It is offered in three sizes.
- Nica Rustica Adobe Robusto (5 x 54) — $5.20 (Box of 25, $130)
- Nica Rustica Adobe Toro (6 x 52) — $5.76 (Box of 25, $144)
- Nica Rustica Adobe Gordo (6 x 60) — $6.48 (Box of 25, $162
“Nica Rustica Adobe presents a daring adventure into the authentically rugged and rustic countryside surrounding Estelí,” said Jonathan Drew, president and co-founder of Drew Estate, in a press release. “The spicy and bold Habano, we call ‘Adobe’ offers smokers a glimpse into the distinguished beauty and bold character of Estelí and her people. You don’t need a passport to experience Estelí … just spark up this six-buck-chuck and you are magically transported to our proud Nicaraguan home.”
Like Drew Estate has done with many recent new releases, the Nica Rustica Adobe was sold before the company announced the line as part of Drew Estate’s Freestyle Live series, an online video show produced by Drew Estate. Consumers could purchase a sampler that included unbranded versions of the line, which was, at the time, unannounced. On May 12, the company hosted a Freestyle Live show where it unveiled Adobe and gave away prizes to consumers and retailers.
Drew Estate has scheduled its next Freestyle Live event unveiling for Sept. 28; prerelease packs for those cigars went on sale yesterday.
