Turns out Nat Sherman will have new cigars for next week’s Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) meeting.
The company will show off three new sizes of the Nat Sherman Panamericana, a line exclusively sold to TAA members. The three new sizes are Belicoso Fino (5 1/2 x 52), Gordo (6 x 60) and Robustico (4 x 54). Pricing for the sizes is said to be between $10-12 and the cigars will come in 10-count boxes.
Panamericana debuted in four sizes in 2014 sold exclusively through Nat Sherman’s Manhattan-based Townhouse retail store. Last year, the company offered those same four sizes to TAA retailers.
“The Panamericana is a very exciting blend that we felt strongly about debuting in very traditional sizes,” said Michael Herklots, vp of retail and brand development at Nat Sherman, in a press release. “However, after working closely with our retail partners over the past year, and listening to their feedback, it was clear we needed to offer these more current and popular formats as well.”
The cigar uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos from Costa Rica and Nicaragua. It is made at Plasencia Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua.
The TAA is an organization of approximately 80 retailers who meet each year to discuss issues facing the cigar industry and also to hold a private trade show with select manufacturers. In recent years, many of those companies have created special cigars exclusive to members of the TAA.
CLE, Crowned Heads, Drew Estate, La Flor Dominicana, My Father and Tatuaje have all announced new TAA releases for this year.
The annual meeting and convention kicks off next week in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
