Micallef Cigars has announced it will be debuting a follow-up to last year’s Micallef Black line at the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show next week.

The Micallef Blue is made up of a Mexican San Andrés Sumatra wrapper covering an Ecuadorian habano binder and filler tobaccos grown in the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

There will be two different vitolas in the Blue line when it debuts:

  • Micallef Blue Robusto (5 x 52) — $7 (Box of 25, $175)
  • Micallef Blue Toro (6 x 52) — $8 (Box of 25, $200)

The company released its Micallef Black line in the same vitolas and price points last June.

“Following the success of Micallef Black, our job is to exceed expectations,” said Dan Thompson, president of Micallef Cigars, in a press release. “The Micallef Blue is a slightly sweet San Andrés Sumatra, praised by those who got to enjoy it early—another premium experience at an unbeatable pocket-friendly price.”

The company says it will show off the Micallef Blue at the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show, which takes place from March 22-25 in Las Vegas, and begin shipping the new line to retailers on March 25.

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
