The Micallef A will be getting a second size.

On Aug. 23, the company will begin shipping the Micallef A Gordo, a new 6 x 60 size for the line. The line is being released to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the formal release of the first Micallef A vitola, which happened last August. The line uses a Nicaraguan Sumatran wrapper over a Sumatran binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

It will have an MSRP of $9.50 per cigar.

“Our Ambassadors and Brick-and-Mortar partners over the last two years have been very vocal they wanted more Gordo options from Micallef Cigars,” said Dan Thompson, president of Micallef, in a press release. “And we’re excited to release the Micallef A as a Gordo based on their feedback. It’s been awesome to see the incredible demand on the Micallef A blend and how our factory in Estelí has risen to the occasion.”

The Micallef A was a project done in part with the Micallef Cigars Ambassador Group, a free-to-join group that the company says has more than 6,000 members. Before the cigar’s release, Micallef asked the group to vote on a name for the cigar. “Ambassador” was the winning choice, though the company changed the name to A.
