Steve Saka of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust has announced that he has created a limited edition Mi Querida Green Torpedo that will be coming to Smoke Inn in South Florida.

As Saka explained the backstory of the cigar on Facebook, he had been planning to release a new line called Kildahlton as a Smoke Inn exclusive, which would replace the store’s annual Red Meat Lovers release in November now that the Red Meat Lover line has gone nationwide. However, while Saka set a goal to have Kildahlton ready by November, it was not meant to be, and as such it will be delayed until November 2025.

In its place, Saka has created a 6 x 52 torpedo for his Mi Querida Green blend, which is currently only available as an event-only cigar called Pataperro, a giant robusto that measures 8 1/2 inches long with a 52 ring gauge. Blend details have not yet been disclosed about the Mi Querida Green.

Saka said that approximately 600 bundles of 10 cigars will be created. Pricing has not yet been determined, as Saka is awaiting final production costs, but said he expects it to be priced between $16 and $18 per cigar. This will be the first torpedo for any of the Mi Querida lines.

He added that more details about the release will be forthcoming.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
