While La Aurora has a number of new cigars for 2019, you wouldn’t be entirely chastised if you walked around the booth and needed to do a second lap to figure out what’s new. That’s because everything new is an extension of an existing product and most of those existing products were introduced last year.
As for the booth, La Aurora is once again in the booth of Miami Cigar & Co., the company’s U.S. distributor. The booth is now divided into four sections: one part features a bar and the entrance, Toscano gets another, Miami another and La Aurora the fourth section.

I’d argue this is the most confusing name on a cigar today. It’s a follow-up to last year’s Hors d’Age 2017. Yes, the 2018 version was called 2017. See that date refers to when the cigars were rolled. The tobacco was aged for 12 years, then it was rolled into a cigar and then aged for another year. It all adds up to a confusing name, though last year’s cigar was quite good.

For this release, the tobacco comes from the 2007 harvest. It was then aged and rolled into a cigar. Like last year’s 107 Cosecha 2006, the blend isn’t identical to the regular production La Aurora 107.

This blend, however, is the original 107 in a size that is very similar, albeit clearly different, than the Liga Privada Flying Pig. This is more tapered cigar than the Flying Pig. It debuted internationally last year but is now making its U.S. release.
