More than six months after the cigar was first announced, the La Aurora 115th Anniversary Edition will finally be available on U.S. shelves. Miami Cigar & Co., the Dominican company’s American distributor, told halfwheel the cigars are expected to begin shipping in late March.

Or at least some of them.

Two limited edition La Aurora 115th Anniversary cigars will begin shipping later this month: a Belicoso (6 1/4 x 52) and Gran Toro (6 x 58). Those cigars use a Dominican corojo wrapper over a Dominican binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Brazil. Both are priced at $19.

  • La Aurora 115th Anniversary Belicoso (6 1/4 x 52) — $19 (Boxes of 15, $285) — 3,000 Boxes of 15 Cigars (45,000 Total Cigars)
  • La Aurora 115th Anniversary Gran Toro (6 x 58) — $19 (Jars of 30, $570) — 800 Jars of 15 Cigars (12,000 Total Cigars)

The U.S. will receive 500 boxes of the Belicoso and 250 jars of the Gran Toro.

When La Aurora announced the cigar last September, it said there were also Churchill and robusto sizes. Those are not part of the first shipment, rather La Aurora is expected to show off the regular production La Aurora 115th Anniversary at the 2019 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, which begins June 29 in Las Vegas.

La Aurora was founded in 1903.
