Maya Selva Cigars has given its two Villa Zamorano lines an updated look this fall, with the new packaging being showcased at the InterTabac 2024 trade fair later this month.

Villa Zamorano is a value-priced line that uses a Sumatra wrapper over a Honduran binder and fillers from Honduras and Nicaragua. The Villa Zamorano Reserva, which the company is now calling the VZ Reserva, is a Honduran puro highlighted by a Jamastrán-grown wrapper. It’s also designed to be wallet-friendly but uses higher quality tobacco.

Both lines are offered in the same eight sizes:

  • Villa Zamorano / VZ Reserva Expreso (3 1/2 x 52)
  • Villa Zamorano / VZ Reserva Intenso (4 x 46)
  • Villa Zamorano / VZ Reserva Robusto (5 x 50)
  • Villa Zamorano / VZ Reserva Corona (5 x 42)
  • Villa Zamorano / VZ Reserva El Gordo (5 x 56)
  • Villa Zamorano / VZ Reserva No. 15 (5 1/2 x 54)
  • Villa Zamorano / VZ Reserva Soberano (6 x 60)
  • Villa Zamorano / VZ Reserva Churchill (7 x 48)

The Villa Zamorano line comes in both 15-count and 25-count bundles, while the VZ Reserva is offered in 25-count boxes.

The new look is centered around an updated VZ logo that is featured in the center of the logo. The wraps around the Villa Zamorano bundles as well as the bundles get some new imagery, while the VZ Reserva moves its secondary band to the foot, helping differentiate it from the line’s previous packaging:

Cigars in the new packaging have just begun shipping to distributors and retailers in Europe and will be coming to the U.S. in October.

The InterTabac 2024 trade fair runs from Sept. 19-21 in Dortmund, Germany.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
