In 2021, General Cigar Co. released the Macanudo Inspirado Brazilian Shade, a two-size limited edition line centered on a Connecticut-seed shade-grown wrapper that was planted in Brazil. Now, the limited edition line is returning to stores.

Most of the details remain the same as the original 2021 release. The wrapper is the shade-grown varietal that was planted in Bahia, Brazil. Underneath that is a Mexican San Andrés binder and four different types of fillers: mata fine from Brazil, piloto cubano from the Dominican Republic, cubita—which General says is grown on a one-acre plot in Mao, Dominican Republic—and tobacco from Jalapa, Nicaragua.

It’s offered in the same two sizes as the original release:

Pricing has changed; the Toro increased by 50 cents per cigar while the Churchill is $1 more.

“To create Macanudo Inspirado Brazilian Shade, we made a significant investment in agronomy that spans Central and South America,” said Steve Abbot, director of marketing for Macanudo, in a press release. “This blend speaks to our commitment to bringing unique smoking experiences to premium cigar smokers. We’re pleased to be able to offer this one-of-a-kind blend once again.”

General Cigar Co. describes this as a limited edition release, though the company rarely discloses the size of its production runs. A press release said that it would ship to stores in “late June.”
