The Le Pâtissier No. 2 will begin shipping to stores tomorrow.

It’s the newest size in Crowned Heads’ Le Pâtissier line. Like so many other cigars that are called “No. 2,” this release is a belicoso; in this case, measuring 6 1/8 x 52. Blend-wise, it’s the same as the rest of the Le Pâtissier line: a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Costa Rica and Nicaragua. The Le Pâtissier line is made at Nicaragua American Cigars S.A. (NACSA) in Estelí, Nicaragua.

The MSRP for the Le Pâtissier No. 2 is set at $13 per cigar.

This cigar won’t be available to every retailer that carries Crowned Heads. The Le Pâtissier No. 2 was a PCA 2023 exclusive, meaning the cigar was only offered to stores that placed orders in person during the trade show, which took place in July. To help delineate it from the regular production vitolas, it will come in a black 20-count box; the regular production sizes come in a creme-colored box with blue accents.

Crowned Heads considers this a limited production item, meaning it’s not a strict one-and-done limited edition but also won’t always be available for order.

“It’s a rarity that we’ve released a figurado in our portfolio,” said Jon Huber, co-founder of Crowned Heads, in a press release when the cigar was announced. “To this day, the only torpedo we’ve produced on a regular production basis goes back to our original Four Kicks Piramide dating back to 2011. Having said that, I’ve always been enamored with the classic torpedo vitola since I began smoking cigars almost thirty years ago, like the Montecristo No. 2 and the H. Upmann No. 2, both considered classic Cuban cigars. We always strive to bring something special to our PCA Exclusive, so we felt the Le Pâtissier No. 2 was a good fit.”

Le Pâtissier debuted in 2020 in a limited edition lonsdale size; last summer, Crowned Heads made Le Pâtissier a regular production line with four sizes, though the lonsdale is not one of them. Last fall, the company announced the four regular production sizes for the brand would move factories from Tabacalera Pichardo to NACSA. This is the first new size to be added since production changed factories.
