Cigar smokers in Italy will have a new—and long overdue—Edición Regional from Habanos S.A. on shelves next month, as the La Gloria Cubana Edición Regional Italia is scheduled for a March 9 launch after being announced as part of the 2017 class of regional releases.

The cigar comes in the familiar Robustos vitola, which measures 4 9/10 inches (124mm) long with a 50 ring gauge. It’s the same size as the well-known Cohiba Robusto, Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.2 and the Partagás Serie D No.4.

Diadema S.p.a., the distributor of Habanos S.A. cigars in Italy, has commissioned 8,800 boxes of 10 cigars, each priced at €125 ($141.97). This is the first time that the La Gloria Cubana brand has been featured as an Edición Regional for Italy.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
