Last year, La Galera was one of a dozen or so companies that released a Year of the Dragon cigar. Now, its Year of the Snake cigar has gone on sale in Asia.

The La Galera Year of the Snake is a classic 7 x 47 Churchill that uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Dominican olor binder and Dominican criollo 98, olor, pelo de oro and piloto cubano fillers. The cigars are produced at the company’s Tabacalera Palma factory in the Dominican Republic.

Each 10-count box has an MSRP of $430, though each box comes with a two-cigar case.

The case is made of leather, though it has a texture that replicates the scales of snakeskin. As for the box, it is made of mahogany though the cigars come in a cedar tray. Like the case, box also has the snakeskin texture.

It is limited to a total of 2,025 boxes, with 1,000 boxes heading to Asia and the other 1,025 split between markets around the world. The La Galera Year of the Snake is already on sale in and around China, including Hong Kong and Macau.

Around a half dozen companies have announced limited releases for the Year of the Snake. The snake is the symbol for the upcoming new year on the Chinese zodiac calendar.
