The La Galera Connecticut is getting a makeover.

La Galera has announced that it will be updating the packaging of the La Galera Connecticut line so that its appearance is similar to the company’s 1936 Box Pressed, Habano and Maduro lines. That means the red-accented main band will be replaced by one that depicts a flowering tobacco plant. In addition to the bands, the boxes will also change to reflect the new packaging. The company says that it found that the different bands caused confusion amongst its customers.

“By aligning the Connecticut line with the rest of our core offerings, we are reinforcing La Galera’s dedication to providing a consistent and exceptional experience for our customers,” said José “Jochy” Blanco, La Galera’s owner, in a press release. “We believe this rebrand will elevate our brand image and make it easier for consumers to identify and enjoy our high-quality cigars.”

While the packaging is changing, the blend will remain the same: an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over a binder and fillers grown by the company in the Dominican Republic. In addition, it will continue to be offered in the same eight sizes. The line is made at the company’s Tabacalera Palma factory in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.

La Galera says it expects the new packaging to arrive at stores by August.
