The La Aurora Hors d’Age is back for another year.

While the year might be 2019, the newest version is the La Aurora Hors d’Age 2018, a 6 x 54 toro that uses the same blend components as last year’s release: an Ecuadorian wrapper and binder over fillers from Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

Hors d’Age is made with tobacco as old as 12-years-old and then aged for an additional year, hence the 2018 date on the band.

“Hors d’Age is a homage to the time-honored practice of extra-aging fine spirits,” said Guillermo León, La Aurora’s owner, in a press release. “The year noted on each Hors d’Age says when each blend started it’s extra-aging process, as this process ensures complexity and amazing flavor in a blend that is still beautifully refined and true to our defining what Dominican cigars should be.”

The U.S. release will be limited to 500 boxes of 15 with pricing set at $15 per cigar. Miami Cigar & Co., La Aurora’s U.S. distributor, says the cigars are expected to begin shipping in September.
