For the third consecutive year, Joya de Nicaragua is releasing a Spanish regional exclusive under the “Pata Negra” name.

And for the third consecutive year, it’s a 5 x 56 double robusto with a pigtail. This year, Joya de Nicaragua is using the Antaño Gran Reserva blend for its Pata Negra blend. In 2022, it used the standard Antaño blend, while 2023 saw the release of the Clásico Medio Siglo Pata Negra. Blend-wise, the Antaño Gran Reserva is a Nicaraguan puro with a habano criollo wrapper. It’s described as a milder version of the Antaño blend thanks to the filler tobaccos that are aged for up to five years.

“With the Antaño Gran Reserva Pata Negra, every puff is an invitation to an unforgettable journey,” said Juan Ignacio Martínez, executive president of Joya de Nicaragua, in a press release. “We have created a work of art for the palate. A tribute to the passion and tradition of tobacco, a legacy we want to share with our aficionados in the Iberian Peninsula, who have always been faithful believers in our work.”

Joya de Nicaragua says the cigar is already available for Spanish retailers to order. The company has announced pricing for the release.
