For the past 15 months or so, Jonathan Fiant of J. London Cigars has drawn inspiration from the iconic London telephone booths for his cigars, a series of small batch limited editions that come with stickers of those booths in various colors.

Now, for his newest series, he is introducing a new character called Mr. London.

The first cigar was blended with Eladio Diaz and features a corojo 99 wrapper of undisclosed origin, a Mexican San Andrés binder, and a filler that includes piloto cubano, habano 92, habano 2000, HVA, and criollo 98, though where that tobacco comes from has not been disclosed. Diaz produced the cigar at his factory, Tabacalera Diaz Cabrera, in the Dominican Republic. Fiant said that cigars have been aged for a year after they were rolled.

It is being offered in a 5 1/2 x 54 vitola that Fiant calls a “super robusto,” and it will have an MSRP of $18.95 per cigar and $189.50 for a box of 10 cigars. Production is limited to 400 boxes.

“This cigar is the introduction to Mr. London,” Fiant said. “Mr. London is a character I will use in different limited edition releases. Years ago, a friend of mine created the character for me and I was honored. I told him I would someday use that character in a series of cigars that felt fitting.”

Fiant said described Mr. London as a once-a-year release. The cigars are scheduled to ship at the end of April.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
