While Omar de Frias’ Fratello usually has at least one new product every year for the IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, this year features more than usual for the brand. In addition to a new Navetta Inverso release, there is a new smaller size in the Classico line as well as a special Space Fresh Pack sampler that includes four 6 x 50 toros, two of which are new blends rolled at Joya de Nicaragua in Estelí, Nicaragua.

Although some elements from past years remained, the Fratello booth was virtually all new for this year’s show, featuring more room for support staff to do their jobs behind the scenes while de Frias worked his magic. There is also some new swag items for the steady stream of customers, including an interesting crab mallet.

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
