The Davidoff brand is celebrating its 50th anniversary of making cigars this year. It’s one of a host of companies honoring an anniversary and that is certainly the focus. That said, this was certainly a trade show of change for the company. This is Oettinger Davidoff AG’s first trade show since the company underwent major changes. On a more practical level, Davidoff of Geneva USA has a new booth this year.

No booth shrunk as much as Davidoff’s this past year—shedding 1,000-square-feet—though I think it was fairly well-received. I don’t think this booth is better than the one from previous years, though Davidoff does a good job of decorating that somewhat distracts from the changes. Of note, Davidoff was hosting pairing seminars in the booth this year, something that isn’t a regular occurrence.

Davidoff 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Humidor

Not sold out is the Davidoff 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Humidor. The company only brought one of the four designs to this year’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show. For one, it’s big; secondly, it’s $15,000. Do you want a Kia or a humidor?

MSRP: $15,000

Production: Limited

Launch Date: 2018

Davidoff 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Lighter

I forgot to take a picture of this. More importantly, we are giving one away. I actually think at $1,050 it’s a pretty good value as it’s an S.T.Dupont LIgne 2 underneath.

MSRP: $1,050

Production: n/a

Launch Date: 2018

Davidoff 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Ashtray

I still couldn’t get anyone to tell me pricing on this, though I imagine it’s going to be expensive. While it certainly looks functional, I really could not imagine using this as an ashtray.

MSRP: n/a

Production: 50 Units

Launch Date: 2018

Back2Back Connecticut

The Big Payback blend is back. Davidoff of Geneva USA’s popular big ring gauge, low price line now returns as the not-so-subtly named Back2Back. It gets artwork and promotion via UR New York, who has partnered with the company for Zino Platinum releases in the past and serve as the Zino Platinum brand ambassador. Of note, the cigars are offered in both boxes, as well as bundles of 10.

Camacho Diploma Special Selection 11/18

Camacho’s Diploma now returns in the iconic 11/18 format. While the packaging isn’t as outrageous as last year, it’s still pretty noticeable. The box actually looks like a super-sized version of the old school Camacho boxes. Good news for Brooks: the boxes are matte this year.

  • Wrapper: Honduras (Corojo)
  • Binder: Honduras (Corojo)
  • Filler: Honduras (Corojo)

  • Camacho Diploma Special Selection 11/18 (6 x 48/54/48) — $22.50 (Boxes of 18, $405)

Production: 1,500 Boxes of 18 Cigars (27,000 Total Cigars)

Launch Date: Late 2018

Camacho Hard Charger

The third release in Camacho’s Brotherhood Series is called Hard Charger. It uses the company’s signature Honduran corojo in both the binder and filler, while a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper graces the outside. Like the rest of the Brotherhood Series, this is military-themed,  this time referencing those who “march forward despite the odds.”

  • Wrapper: U.S.A. (Connecticut Broadleaf)
  • Binder: Honduras (Corojo)
  • Filler: Honduras (Corojo)

  • Camacho Hard Charger (6 x 50) — $13 (Boxes of 20, $260)

Production: 1,500 Boxes of 20 Cigars (30,000 Total Cigars)

Launch Date: Late 2018
