General Cigar Co. has announced the formal release of the new Partagas Heritage.

The cigar uses a Honduran Olancho San Agustin Valley wrapper from the middle viso primings of the plant. It covers a Connecticut broadleaf binder and three fillers: Dominican piloto Cubano, Honduran Jamastran Valley and Mexican San Andrés.

“We set out to create a retrospective blend that celebrated the very best of Partagas to date, and took great pride in putting together the ingredients, just like coming up with a very special recipe,” said Jhonys Diaz, vp of operations forGeneral Cigar Co. “This was a group effort, with our blenders in the Dominican Republic and Central America working with the marketing team to achieve the final taste.”

The new cigar will be offered in four sizes.

  • Partagas Heritage Rothschild (4 1/2 x 50) — $8.49 (Boxes of 20, $169.80)
  • Partagas Heritage Churchill (7 x 49) — $9.99 (Boxes of 20, $199.80)
  • Partagas Heritage Gigante (6 x 50) — $9.59 (Boxes of 20, $191.80)
  • Partagas Heritage Robusto (5 1/2 x 52) — $9.59 (Boxes of 20, $191.80)

Partagas Heritage uses a red band with gold lettering and accents similar to the Partagas 150 and the newer Cuban Partagás releases.

While the cigar has been offered to select retailers for the last few months, General has now announced its national release. It is being made at General Cigar Dominicana.
