It appears that there will soon be a new, lighter offering to General Cigar Co.’s Cohiba brand. Sean Williams, the brand’s national ambassador and a blender for the brand, recently posted a picture of the Cohiba Connecticut to his Instagram account.
While details about the new line have not yet been released by General Cigar Co., the cigar has been found on at least one retailer’s website. Based on that information, the cigar uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, a dual binder of Mexican and Brazilian tobacco and a filler of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobacco.
The line is being offered in three sizes, though the robusto vitola is offered in a crystal tube as well:
- Cohiba Connecticut Gigante (6 x 60) — $22 (Boxes of 20, $440)
- Cohiba Connecticut Robusto (5 1/2 x 52) — $20 (Boxes of 20, $400)
- Cohiba Connecticut Robusto Crystal Tubes (5 1/2 x 52) — $20.50 (Boxes of 10, $205)
- Cohiba Connecticut Toro (6 1/2 x 52) — $21 (Boxes of 20, $420)
Emails sent to General Cigar Co. seeking additional information about the Cohiba Connecticut have not yet been returned.
Shortly after the story was published, Sean Williams contacted halfwheel to say that official details are still being finalized and will be forthcoming.
