E.P. Carrillo is celebrating 15 years in business and doing so like pretty much every other cigar company does, with a limited edition cigar.
The E.P. Carrillo 15 Year Anniversary is a 6 1/2 x 54 vitola that uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper that the company says is 10-years-old, while the binder is from Nicaragua’s Jalapa region, with the company claiming it is 15-years-old. The blend is rounded out by a filler that comes from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, with the company saying that it is several years old.
Production is limited to 5,000 boxes of 15 cigars, 3,500 of which are destined for the U.S., with the remaining 1,500 headed to non-U.S. markets. In the U.S., the cigars have an MSRP of $20.
The cigars will debut on Nov. 15 at 8 to 8 Cigars in Villa Park, Ill., with shipping to other stores to begin shortly thereafter.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
