First, there was Liga Privada Panchetta, now, there will be a Liga Privada Porchetta.

Drew Estate has announced the new Liga Privada Único Serie Porchetta, a 6 x 46 box-pressed belicoso that uses a Brazilian mata fina wrapper over binder and fillers from Honduras and Nicaragua.

The MSRP is set at $19.25 per cigar and it will be offered in boxes of 20 cigars. This release is exclusive to Casa de Montecristo, a retail chain of 25 stores nationwide, some of which are owned by Tabacalera USA and others of which are franchise stores.

Porchetta will be a regular production item, though exclusive for Casa de Montecristo.

“Porchetta is a meaty, in-your-face, turbulent journey of flavor and aroma,” said Jonathan Drew, president and co-founder of Drew Estate in a press release. “It’s hard-hitting, yet smooth and meat-lovin-calculated at the very same time… kinda like a Larry Holmes jab to the dome… it’s not meant to knock you out. But damn, that was the thing about Holmes in his heyday… he could literally knock you out with a couple of jabs. Nobody should get knocked out with a jab, really. This Porchetta is like a miniature Larry Holmes. My dad was a huge Larry Holmes fan, for the record.”

Drew Estate says the Porchetta has already been sent to Casa de Montecristo and expects the cigars to on sale shortly.
