Drew Estate Announces Liga Privada Bakkwa, Another CoH Cigars Exclusive

There appears to be yet another exclusive Liga Privada for CoH Cigars, a Hong Kong-based retailer.

Today, Drew Estate announced the Liga Privada Único Serie Bakkwa, a 7 x 48 Churchil cigar that uses a Connecticut habano wrapper over an undisclosed filler blend. The company says that the cigar was “crafted to honor Lunar New Year traditions.” Its named after a Chinese pork dish that is popular around Chinese New Year.

It has an MSRP of $19.59 per cigar or $235 per box of 12.

Notably, this cigar doesn’t make any mention of the current zodiac symbol on the lunar calendar: the dragon.

CoH Cigars is already selling a Liga Privada Year of the Dragon, which is a 6 x 52 toro that comes in a bright red box. Drew Estate has not commented on the Year of the Dragon release. It seems the no comment is likely related to a lawsuit filed by Gurkha against Davidoff over Davidoff’s Year of the Dragon cigar. Gurkha claims that it has the rights to the dragon trademark.

Previously, CoH Cigars received the Liga Privada Year of the Tiger and Year of the Rabbit as exclusive cigars. This appears to be the first time the retailer is getting two exclusive releases in the same year.
