The newest release of the Crowned Heads’ R. Field Wine Co. exclusive will arrive next month.

On Feb. 24, 2017, R. Field Wine Co. will host an event with Crowned Heads co-founder Jon Huber at the Hawaii Prince Hotel, where the Paniolo Especiale 2017 will formally debut.

While many of the details are the same, there are some notable changes. Production of the 5 5/8 x 46 corona gorda is now being handled by Tabacalera La Alianza S.A. in the Dominican Republic. The first two versions were produced at My Father Cigars S.A.

Due to FDA regulations, Crowned Heads is declining to disclose the blend.

For the first time, the release will have a traditional band. Previous releases used ribbon on the foot, but Huber said they wanted to help the look of the cigar and admitted the company was running out of color options for the foot bands.

Production is once again limited to 500 boxes of 12 cigars with suggested retail pricing set at $8.70. Because of Hawaii’s cigar tax, the actual price for in-state customers will likely be significantly more.

Tickets for the event are on sale, priced at $89, which includes five cigars, dinner and a selection of spirits.
