CLE Cigar Co.’s exclusive release for the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show is centered around tobacco from the company’s new farm in a yet-to-be-disclosed South American country.
The CLE PCA Exclusive 2023 uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over binder and filler tobaccos from the company’s farm in a South American country. While not a major cigar-producing area, various manufacturers use tobacco from Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay and Peru. South America also includes Ecuador, one of the most important countries for premium cigars due to the prevalence of Ecuadorian wrappers.
It will be offered in four sizes:
- CLE PCA Exclusive 2023 50X5 (5 x 50) — $17 (Box of 20, $340)
- CLE PCA Exclusive 2023 11X18 (6 1/4 x 52/60) — $18 (Box of 20, $360)
- CLE PCA Exclusive 2023 52X6 (6 x 52) — $18 (Box of 20, $360)
- CLE PCA Exclusive 2023 60X6 (6 x 60) — $19 (Box of 20, $380)
“I wanted to create a premium Connecticut cigar like no other,” said Christian Eiroa, founder of CLE Cigar Co., in a press release. “We have been secretly cultivating tobacco in South America and this will be the first blend that contains tobacco from this farm.”
The 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show takes place July 8-11 in Las Vegas. This is the third consecutive year that CLE has created an exclusive for the PCA Convention & Trade Show; the other two were under the company’s Eiroa brand. In order to purchase the previous two releases, retailers needed to place an order during the trade show. Once they did, they were able to continue to reorder those cigars. This release will be different, as it’s limited to just 150 boxes per vitola. It is expected to begin shipping in mid-September.
