While Cavalier Genève has oftentimes leaned into gold as a theme for its cigars, its newest trio of cigars is named after a Japanese method of fried food.

In June, the company plans to release Tempura, a new size for three of its lines. The Tempura size is a 4 x 60 short perfecto with a pigtail cap, a size that looks very similar to Drew Estate’s Flying Pig, albeit the Flying Pig is a bit shorter than Cavalier’s new vitola.

It will be offered in the BII Viso Jalapa, Black II and White Series lines.

Blend-wise, the BII Viso Jalapa is made entirely of Nicaraguan tobacco, topped off with a wrapper grown in Jalapa placed over habano-seed leaves. Black Series II uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Nicaraguan habano binder and Nicaraguan fillers. The White Series has the most diverse blend of the trio: a habano wrapper over a Connecticut binder and filler tobaccos grown in the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Paraguay.

Pricing has not been announced, and the final packaging has not been shown off, though the company says it is working on incorporating trays into the design. The Tempura vitolas will be regular production additions for each line.

This is the second new vitola for these three lines. The company also announced a new 4 3/4 x 52 petit torpedo vitola known as Petit N2.
