C.Gars Ltd Opens Scotland’s First LCDH

There is now a La Casa del Habano in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Earlier this week, C.Gars Ltd. held the grand opening for its new store, located at 11 Lister Square. Beyond the La Casa del Habano—a designation given to select stores by Habanos S.A.—the location also features a heated outdoor lounge, meaning that consumers will have a place to smoke cigars and drink cocktails. There’s also Puffin Rooms, a bar concept from C.Gars Ltd, that includes over 200 whiskies, cocktails, food items and live music. Notably, it is open seven days per week.

“We have developed a comprehensive database of cigar enthusiasts in Scotland over the last 25 years through our robust online sales,” said Michell Orchant, founder of C.Gars Ltd, in a press release. “This data and Edinburgh’s thriving tourist destination made it the ideal location for this new, extraordinary venue.”

As of this March 2023, there were 157 La Casa del Habano franchises worldwide. The stores are independently owned but licensed franchises from Habanos S.A. In order to gain an LCDH license, stores must meet certain qualifications, including requirements for the type of humidor and lounge features a store has. LCDHs have access to specific LCDH-exclusive products like this and oftentimes get priority for the first shipments of new cigars.

C.Gars Ltd has two other La Casa del Habano stores in Britain as well as 10 other stores and lounges. It is part of Dominique London, which also owns La Casa del Habano stores in Basel, Costa Adeje, and Knokke.
