Two weeks ago, Plasencia Cigars began shipping a new version of its Plasencia Alma del Campo Guajiro.

The cigar remains a 5 1/2 x 54 toro extra, but the new version of the cigar is box-pressed instead of round. This is a replacement, meaning if you’d like the round version, you better buy them while retailers still have them in stock.

Like the rest of the line, it’s a Nicaraguan puro that uses a wrapper from Jalapa, a Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos sourced from Condega, Estelí, Jalapa and Ometepe. Plasencia produces the cigar at its flagship factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.

The MSRP is set at $18.25 per cigar.

“Experience the artistry of our Alma Del Campo Guajiro box-pressed cigar, where the meticulous pressing process enhances the harmony between the Nicaraguan grown filler, binder, and wrapper leaves, delivering a richer, more refined taste with every draw,” said Jim Young, ceo of Plasencia Cigars, in a press release.

Update (July 2, 2024) — Quotes and images from the press release have been added.
