The newest release from Big Sky Cigar Co. is now showing up on retailers’ shelves.

Named after a famous ribbon trout stream in Big Sky’s home state of Montana, Blackfoot is 6 x 54 toro extra composed of a Mexican San Andrés wrapper covering a binder and fillers grown in the Dominican Republic. The cigar has an MSRP of $15, and it is packaged in 20-count boxes.

The regular production cigar is the final blend in the company’s core Montana River Series, which also includes four previous releases which also get their names from rivers located in Montana: Bighorn 2.0, Bitterroot, Madison and Yellowstone. According to Brandon Marsh, vp of marketing and online sales at Big Sky Cigar, Blackfoot is made at Manufactura Rivas in the Dominican Republic.

In an email, Marsh told halfwheel that boxes of Blackfoot began showing up at retailers last week.

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
