Last year, Big Sky Cigar Co. released two new regular production lines at its first PCA Convention & Trade Show. However, for this year’s show, the Montana-based cigar company decided to show off one new release named Blackfoot.

Big Sky upgraded its booth in a significant way compared to the space it had last year, with an obvious increase in room for interested parties to sit down and relax. The company also added a large banner backdrop and lighted glass cases to display its various offerings.

The company’s sole new creation at the show this year also happens to be the final blend in Big Sky’s core Montana River Series, which includes four previous releases: Bighorn 2.0, Bitterroot, Madison, and Yellowstone.

Blackfoot

Named after a famous ribbon trout stream in Montana, the Blackfoot was blended by Francisco “Chico” Rivas, who has also blended cigars for companies like Chogüí and Muga Inc.

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
