At the upcoming 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show, Artista Cigars will be adding a new line called Falu to its Artista Series, which is referred to as the factory’s premium line.
The cigar is called Falu and is billed as a full-bodied, full-strength blend, with a broadleaf wrapper of undisclosed origin, an Indonesian binder, and an undisclosed filler. The company describes the profile as starting with hints of hay and aged hardwood, building with hints of dried cranberries, and finishing with cracked pepper and notes of sweet Dominican rum.
It is being offered in two sizes:
- Artista Falu Box Pressed Robusto (5 x 54) — $10.20 (Box of 20, $204)
- Artista Falu Box Pressed Toro (6 x 50) — $10.40 (Box of 20, $208)
In a press release, the company said that the Artista Falu is named for the red barns of Northern Europe and the United States that stand out in rich contrast to their pastoral surroundings.
“For the Artista lines we challenged ourselves to make something different,” said Kevin Newman, director of sales and marketing for Artista Cigars. “We spoke with our factory team and worked with our agronomist. We asked them to seek new materials, source often over-looked tobaccos, and asked our best artisans to help us develop something wholly different.”
Each blend in the Artista Series is represented by a moniker and matching color, each distinct in strength and profile.
The Artista Falu is scheduled to ship to retailers during the first week of April.
