The Alec Bradley Post Embargo line is on its way to back to stores, as the new Blend Code B15 version began shipping today.
The line dates back to 2015 when Alec Bradley released the original Post Embargo, a cigar named for the vision of the United States’ embargo of Cuba being a thing of the past. It used a Honduran wrapper over dual binders from Honduras and Nicaragua as well as fillers from those two countries, with production handled by Raíces Cubana in Honduras. The line was discontinued in March 2021 alongside the Mundial and Nico Puro lines.
Now, the line is back with a new look and new blend, with a Honduran Trojes criollo-seed wrapper, dual binders from Honduras—one a Jamastran corojo-seed, the other a Trojes criollo-seed—and a filler that contains Honduran Jamastran corojo and Trojes criollo along with Nicaraguan criollo from the Jalapa region.
The line, which is a regular production, is once again being produced at Raíces Cubana and with three sizes available, all sporting pigtail caps:
- Alec Bradley Post Embargo Blend Code B15 Gordo (6 x 60) — $10.99 (Box of 24, $263.76)
- Alec Bradley Post Embargo Blend Code B15 Robusto (5 x 52) — $8.99 (Box of 24, $215.76)
- Alec Bradley Post Embargo Blend Code B15 Toro (6 x 52) — $9.99 (Box of 24, $239.76)
At the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show, Bradley Rubin, brand ambassador for Alec Bradley, told halfwheel that the packaging was what the original Post Embargo was supposed to use. Alan Rubin, founder and then former owner of Alec Bradley, decided to go with more traditional packaging instead. Between the name and the packaging using the original design, the Post Embargo Blend Code B15 is not just an extension of the Post Embargo line but also a celebration of it.
Alec Bradley is distributed by Forged Cigar Co.
