In the second half of 2024, STG has been regularly trimming the company’s massive portfolio of cigars. The latest round includes OSA Sol, one of the first General-era CAO cigars launched.

While Bolivar Cofradia and Bolivar Gran Republica will continue to be sold, the regular Bolivar line has been discontinued. In addition, STG has axed the El Rico Habano and Helix brands.

As expected from a collaboration with the Eiroa family, the blend showcases Honduran tobacco. It marks the first time that an El Rey del Mundo cigar will use habano and corojo tobacco.

The Halloween-themed cigar is a spin-off of Alec Bradley’s Filthy Hooligan and Filthy Hooligan Shamrock, which are limited edition cigars released annually to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. However, unlike those two blends, the Black Market Filthy Ghooligan does not include candela tobacco as part of its barber pole wrapper design.

Gone since 2016, the 7 x 70 vitola is back and on its way to stores today. It’s the second 7 x 70 to return to the line, joining the one in the revamped core line that returned in June 2023.

STG announced a handful of adjustments to its portfolio today, which include four lines going away.

The cigars are produced by Joya de Nicaragua and feature Pennsylvania broadleaf in the filler. Yet, the blend is described as the lightest created by Matt Booth and Justin Andrews.

It takes 200 years to grow a Mizunara tree large enough to be cut for use. Then Rabbit Hole puts its most premium whisky in barrels made from the wood for 11 months, after they’ve already spent 15 years in American oak. Then it’s onto the cigarmaking process.

The name of the person who made each cigar is printed on a secondary band. This release is limited to less than 20,000 cigars.

While Alan Rubin is no longer involved into the day-to-day operations of Alec Bradley, his blend book was the source for this new release.

The name has the exact connotation you’d expect it to.
