I generally feel like I have a good idea of what’s supposed to be shown off at the 2015 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, at least for most companies. That was the case with Miami Cigar & Co., but halfway through my booth visit, it seemed clear that that wasn’t the case. While there wasn’t a ton new from Miami Cigar & Co.’s own brands, the additions from the brands it distributes—La Aurora, Viva Republic and HF Barcelona—along with another potential distribution agreement made for a busy booth.
La Aurora Puro Vintage Master Series
While the Puro Vintage 2006 has been on sale for a few months, the company will be releasing 500 Master Series cases that include a box of three different sizes—Preferido No.1, Salomon and Toro—this October. it’s limited to 500 units and has a retail price of $1,000.
The Master Series first appeared as an auction item at this year’s Procigar.
La Aurora Untamed Xtreme
The new release from La Aurora is likely to land in October. it uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, Dominican binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan filler. It’s offered in three sizes: Robusto (5 x 50, $7.50), Toro (5 1/2 x 54, $9) and Gran (7 x 60, $11).
Viva Republica Advanced Warfare
The follow-up to the company’s popular Guerrilla Warfare is billed as being substantially stronger. It once again uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, but this version features a Connecticut broadleaf binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and the U.S. Like Guerrilla Warfare, it’s offered in two sizes: Corona (5 1/4 x 43, $6) and Petit (4 x 41, $5). This should be shipping now in 50-count boxes.
Ivy
This is a new Viva Republica line and program. While no product was specifically showed off at the trade show, Jason Holly was talking to perspective retailers. My understanding is that this will be limited to roughly 100 accounts who will have access to Ivy-only products. It’s unclear whether this will ship this year.
Viva Republica Propaganda Bandwagon
The new size of the Propaganda line is due out next month. It’s known as Bandwagon, a 7 x 50 churchill that will retail for $8.75.
Coffee Break by Tatiana
It’s a more premium flavored offering from Miami Cigar & Co. There are three sizes: Cuarenta (4 x 40, $4.28), Cincuenta (4 1/2 x 50, $6) and Sesenta (4 x 60, $7); each available in three flavors: Café con Leche, Cortado and Corretto. This is likely to ship next month.
HF Desktop Humidor
There’s new more affordable desktop humidor from HF Barcelona. It’s listed with a capacity of 50 cigars and will come in Brown, Red, White and Wood.
This should begin shipping next month with a suggested retail price of $250.
HF Desktop Flame
The new desktop lighter was on display, it matches HF’s humidors using a wood base in Brown, Red, White and Wood. Pricing is $90.
Toscano
There’s a deal in the works that would see Miami & Cigar Co. handle Toscano distribution for traditional tobacconists. Toscano was located in the Miami booth so that both companies could get feedback from Miami’s customers, something that was going well according to Jason Wood, vp of Miami Cigar & Co.
