As part of its 20th anniversary celebration, XIKAR is planning a follow-up to its iconic Xi cutter, the XO.

The circular design uses a gear system to ensure the double guillotine blades open and close in unison. The company says the goal was to provide the precision of cigar scissors in a compact body with automatic action.

XIKAR says it took the company three years to develop the XO.

It is designed to cut up to 64 ring gauge cigars and will be offered Black, Bronze and Gunmetal finishes with chrome blades and Blue with matte black blades. The first three finishes will cost $99.99 while the Blue version will be priced at $119.99.

Update (July 11, 2016) — XIKAR announced the pricing. This story was originally published on July 1.
