Over the weekend, Warped Cigars launched the El Oso Petit Robusto, a limited edition 4 x 50 vitola in the El Oso blend.

The cigar uses an Ecuadorian habano oscuro wrapper and Ecuadorian binder, while the filler comes from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The release is limited to 160 bundles of 10 cigars, a total run of 1,600 cigars.

Not only is it limited edition, but it is getting a limited release, with just 10 stores carrying the cigar.

The company has not yet responded to an e-mail sent by halfwheel asking about pricing and confirming the factory that made the cigar. Two retailers told halfwheel that the MSRP would be $15 per cigar, and both expected to receive them this week.

The El Oso line debuted in 2014 with two sizes, followed by an exclusive size for Atlantic Cigar Co. in 2016 and then an extension launched in 2021 called El Oso Blanco, a hybrid of the El Oso and La Colmena lines. Those have previously been made at El Titan de Bronze in Miami.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
