Last year, Villiger Cigars North America released a new line limited edition called Villiger Miami, only it wasn’t made in Miami. In fact, the blend was produced about 850 miles away in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

There will be a second Villiger Miami, though this time only in one size compared to the pair of vitolas the company released last year. The Villiger Miami 2023 is a 5 7/8 x 53 parejo, a vitola the company calls cañonazo.

While ABAM Cigars S.R.L.—the same factory that produced the original Villiger Miami—is making this cigar, the blend is different. This year’s cigar uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over a mixture of tobaccos from undisclosed origins, with the exception that some of the filler tobaccos are from Peru. For context, last year’s blend used an Ecuadorian desflorado wrapper over tobaccos from the Dominican Republic.

The MSRP is set at $17 per cigar and production is limited to 1,000 boxes of 10 cigars. Villiger Cigars North America will show off the Villiger Miami 2023 at next month’s 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show, which takes place July 8-11 in Las Vegas, before shipping the cigars to stores in August.
